In Spain Christmas begin 22th
of December with the Draw traditional Christmas lottery.
Two days later, on the
night of 24th of December celebrated Christmas Eve, have dinner with
the family. Usually eat shellfish, lamb,
stuffed turkey, ham, and the typical desserts: all kinds of nougat, marzipan,
shortbread, etc.. In the end toast with wine or champagne.
The next day is Christmas
Day. In the morning children get up soon to saw presents of Santa Claus, and
congratulate the Christmas.
28th of December
is All Fools’ Day, people play a joke on friend or family to laugh or play.
During days of Christmas
children write her o his letter for Three Wise Man. They ask for presents, that
they would like receive.
The year finishes with
party. Usually celebrate with friends, or family. This night at 00:00 o’clock
eat 12 grapes, or another thing, depend the country, the culture and the
person. The clock strike twelve peals and all people says “happy new year”
On New Year Day, people get
up later. This day, the family has dinner together.
Christmas finish when three
wine man come to family’s home. In the afternoon of 5th of January
is celebrate the procession of Three Wise Man, when children and family pick up
sweets or other things that helpers of three wise man throw. This night
children go to the bed soon because tomorrow will come Three Wise Man.
In the morning people get
up and run to see presents of Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar. Children are very
happy, and the family has dinner together. Today eat ring-shaped cake, a
typical dessert.
